republicans

People of color are quick to say that the Republicans are racist, meanwhile the Democrats, who aren’t racist, haven’t even slightly improved the lives of people of color. But what is Racism, as an American social construct is an ideology of hate and particularly an ideology of hatred directed toward people of color. This word itself refers to any attitude towards individuals and groups of people which posits a direct linear connection between physical and mental qualities. It therefore attributes to those individuals and groups of people collective traits, physical, mental, and moral, which are constant and unalterable by human will, because they believed to be caused by hereditary factors or external influences, such as climate or geography.

While it is true that an individual may not have racial intent, but that individual’s actions may nonetheless have racial consequence. And that individual need not adhere to white supremacist ideology to benefit from its effects or to be injured by it. However, there is an undeniable psychological wage of whiteness, all too often the reward for blackness is a bullet…Mr. President this is the Wage Gap. Today in America, racial justice is beyond redistribution.

“…a psychological bird that told him that no matter how bad off he was, at least he was a white man, better than the Black man.”- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

People complain that Mexicans are taking their jobs; they complain that Asian Americans are taking over their country; they complain that Blacks are ruining their neighborhood – this is a concept of ownership. This is a concept that gave rise to the political slogans “Take Our Country Back” and “Make This Country Great Again”.

Many people of color don’t like the republicans, they feel the Republicans are amnesiac racist and corporate opportunist that would kick their own mother out of a wheelchair if it made them a dollar, yet these people of color are the main consumers of Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Frito Lays products, etc the very products that sustain and support the Republican Party and its candidates.

Ben Carson and Donald Trump

As if either of these guys has a shot at winning…

In a default setting people of color have allowed, enabled, so-called racist from both political parties to rule over them.

What could cause people of color vote against their own best interest? What could causes them not to create a political party for them and by them? What is it that causes them to continually watch the very thing they claim to hate? What causes them yell racist and at the same time support “racist” policies and parties with their hard earned dollar? What is it that makes them no groom people of color for political office? What is it that causes them to beg for help from their “oppressor” in a park, while singing old spiritual songs? What could makes them stand for the lesser of two evils while their communities crumble around them?

Slave labor and sex trafficking is still coming in from the southern border…right. Reparations still haven’t been paid…right. Middle Easterners are still being bombed…right. Drugs are still ravaging communities…right. People of color are still being incarcerated at a three times higher rate than Whites…right.

Mrs. Clinton actually called Blacks “Super Predators” and not your lives don’t matter. Meanwhile Mr. Clinton is apologizing for the “unintended consequences” of mass incarceration, who the hell else were they going to lock up for profit…people that looked like him…

Every time you turn around the Department of Justice is investigating another incident (Just to calm you down)…right. You are still working hard every single day to make ends meet…right. College tuition is still rising…right. Wars are still being funded…right.

Hillary Clinton

Voting for someone who looks like you or is the same gender as you, may make you feel better, but how is that really working out? It is’t the Republicans or the Republican Party that has amnesia, perhaps it is the people of color who have amnesia.

President Barack Obama

Ohio’s school district suspended a teacher without pay for allegedly telling an African-American student, “We don’t need another black president.” Far be it form me to criticize the protocol for disciplining teachers, but the call for this teacher’s”firing” is overboard. It is overboard one because the media isn’t filling synapses with more urgent and pressing matters, and two if history is any indicator the teacher is right. We don’t need another black president.

America doesn’t need a female president (sorry Hillary). America doesn’t need a Hispanic or an Asian president. I know people will not like that but it’s the truth. America doesn’t need another ethnic, hyphenated, or sub group American as president if they are going to do exactly what a white male would do. America doesn’t need a female president, if she is going to do what her white male counterpart would do, just so we can celebrate that she is female. Yes those with agendas and predisposed mental conditions would cheer any selection from the selected, but they too will realize that electing someone doesn’t meant that someone represents your concerns, even if they claim to (see Worst Congress Ever). These others, (non-white males) have different experiences, different upbringings and different philosophies but once elect all of those qualities are muted by lobbyist and party lines. With all the talk of inclusion and diversity you don’t see either ruling party grooming any “minority” for the highest office in 2016, now do you? And that should tell you all you need to know.

Saving the auto industry

This does not mean the President is not to be commended for enduring all of the family attacks, the coded-racial slings and arrows. he has recovered masterfully from his mis-steps and endured the fickle whims of an under informed public. Under President Barack Obama the economy is stronger, the supreme court has a Hispanic justice, marijuana is legal, unemployment is down, homosexuals can marry, homeless veterans have housing, wall street has been reformed, the auto industry has been saved, the war in Iraq is over, women are paid equally as men, the stock market is higher than it has ever been and every American has healthcare coverage.

Presidential Family

The pricelessness of forcing whites to stomach the daily presence of a black family, for most was enough to case the 1st vote for Barack Obama.

It may not be as far off as you think

Through the eyes of history President Barack Obama will likely go down as the greatest president to have ever lived.

What President Barack Obama has done is exactly what needed to be done. It may have nuanced, but there was nothing extraordinary about it. He just happened to be president when they occurred. The previous President, George Bush, had America teetering on collapse and the American people were not having anymore Republican party policies shoved down their throats. The top 1% and media knew that the present conditions were unsustainable so they gave Americans a choice the black guy or the lady, and then they pushed Americans to the easier-to-deal with choice of the black guy. The republicans threw the 2008 election and the rest is history (they have to run someone to get the monies right?) And the black guy office and he took all of the hits, like he was supposed to and he has catered to every major group there was.

Drone on

President Barack Obama is also authorizing the use of remote control drones to kill people, so much so that this usages has now crept into police usage. He has allowed the NSA, CIA and the FBI the freedom to collect every bit of data there is on everyone, forever erasing the any notion of privacy. He has been far too accommodating to those who have impeded every one of his congressional pushes. He said that his administration would be transparent, but it hasn’t been. He has allowed lobbyist to work in his administration. He hasn’t placed a tariff on companies that do not provide barely sustainable wages to employees. Scores of innocent people, according to the DOJ, are incarcerated unknowingly. He has not fined or ended discrimination in internet purchases. He is still fundraising by millions. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program has soared by 70 percent since he took office, He has not required companies selling and or operating in the U.S. to establish a non-slave wage for workers in third wold countries. He has not taken money out of politics. He has not fined, nor ended nightclub gender discrimination. He has done nothing about securing America’s southern border and has refused to enforce federal immigration laws. He ordered criminal investigations of reporters. He has dismissed any mention of reparations. He used the IRS to target conservatives. He bailed out the banks after their collapse.

“I’m a warrior for the middle class”, he has always bashed the rich and talks about helping the middle class, but hasn’t. American children graduating from high school, test scores average a 7th grade reading levels and 8th grade math level, and this hasn’t changed since he’s been in office and nothing he has done shows that America is serious about education our youth. He did not close Guantanamo Bay detention camp as he promised, it still houses detainees. He has a kill list, a list that has the locations of people he would like to pursue lethal action against. He has done nothing to end the failed war on drugs policies. He has done noting to reduce the states immoral need to incarcerate citizens for profit. He has not had his attorney general office review the thousands of racially biased laws…

President Barack Obama has ignored the common folk, the every man, America’s backbone. For them taxes are high taxes, prices on mass produced items never go down, power is still centralized in political parties, gas prices are twice as high, a subtle class war has begun, and the regulations that face small businesses are burdensome. Since he has been in office the disparity between the rich and poor has never been greater.

“The idea that so many children are born into poverty in the wealthiest nation on Earth is heartbreaking enough. But the idea that a child may never be able to escape that poverty because she lacks a decent education or health care or a community that views her future as their own, that should offend all of us,”- President Barack Obama. Fortunately for President Obama there is still time for him to address many of these concerns.

No America doesn’t need a woman, Hispanic, Asian, and certainty not another black president. What America needs is an individual. An individual who will do the right thing. America needs a president who won’t just spew party platforms and follow party lines. America needs a president who will not bow to lobbyist, corporatism, special interest groups. If that were to happen that will be the only president for who gender and race does not matter. That is also a president, America won’t be allowed to have.

How does one explain that the one billion dollars you spent on a presidential election got you soundly drubbed by over 100 electoral votes margin? How do you justify the loss of each congressional candidate that was backed by 300 million in ads?

In the most telling of moments of the 2012 election it was hurricane Sandy showed people racism and prejudice is not functional for a forward moving country. Racism exists, prejudice exists, and it exists culturally and institutionally, especially for whites. This polarization runs across race and across class. After the re-election of President Barack Obama tens of thousands have signed petitions to secede from the union, an absurd proposition, but the sentiment that prejudice carries trump common sense. In the midst of this loud and prevalent ignorance some are waking up. Some realize that we cannot longer look at the countries the USA has attacked over the years or will engage in the future and say that they weren’t peppered with racist notions.

Today blacks that graduate with college degrees are twice as unlikely to get hired as their white counterparts. To say that America is racist is not a rhetorical narrative. White America is not prepared to view the world how it is or how it is becoming. They want everyone to think like them, many of them have a stuck in the past mentality. When they are confronted with a multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-racial society they retreat to what comforts them and politicians and the 24 hours networks give them that comfort.

The media plays it loud, clear and repeatedly that they can go back to a time when half the country wasn’t free, to a time when the natives were being exterminated and their land occupied, to a time when the theft of Mexico’s land was underway, to a time when 4 million where enslaved. How can this narrative be the main one that is played over and over again by journalists, networks or any responsible party, because it is their agenda? And the disillusioned, jaded masses find solace in these and every fringe narrative propagated by the media. Then they present specials on why social media sites are often deluged with racist, sexist and homophobic rants as if the media didn’t bring people on to put it out to the masses.

The sport of politics continues on as the ratings driven media engine and fringe bloggers gently pull the racial heart strings of the prejudice and ill informed masses. In a free country demographics change, times change, but you still loudly heard the chants of “take our country back!’  Networks and commentators echoed these very same chants. Networks sieges on and repeat flawed and absurd narratives even when the rhetoric came from non-credible sources. This repetition not only reinforced this racial psychosis, but allowed people to cling on to racist notions, and live happily every after with ignorant sound bites. In the end, some believed, even subconsciously,  that race was more important that correcting the countries dire economic situation. This belief was and is so strong that some are willing to allow the country to collapse, to not hire people, and to undermine the President.

Politicians don’t have the fortitude to tell their constituents that the country no longer looks like it did when your forefather had power. Instead they fleece and exploit and lie to them to stay in office, to stay relevant. Countless commentators are willing to blow dog whistles and toss red meat as long as networks will give opportunities to commentate.

For liberals, conservative and anyone in-between the entertainment complex contains far too many bad acting participants to name, however, there is a market for hate, racism and prejudice. This market has led its followers, its donors and its noble activist to often be mistaken about the nature of the America’s problems. They become jaded, biased and socially irresponsible, quite simply it’s a sickness. This complex pits one vs. the other, lauds and celebrates party identification even though this identification inherently forces people reject factual narratives and new information. Some people feel as though they are nothing without the party, the party is a part of their identity. It is this party identity that urges people to vote against their and the country’s best interest.

The election is over and for Americans, all the ill will is no longer on the front page, the negativity is no longer blaring 24 hour a day. And on we trudge without so much as an apology, without a hint of remorse, and without a resolution to the sickness. For Americans it’s business as usual and on to the next crisis for the news media, on to the next pundit that seeks only to continue the debate and on to the next election of cruelty. Forward.

Recently President Barack Obama evolved, or changed course on same-sex marriage., by now saying he supports gay marriage, but stresses that it is a personal position. This puts him in stark opposition to presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney who has firmly pledged his opposition to gay marriage. We won’t get into the rights and wrong of the issue or the possible financial and political motivations behind it. Was the president wrong to suggest that his daughter’s friends gay parents helped him see clearer? Was he wrong to come out in support of gay marriage, but not offer what he would do to move that forward? Is he setting the tone for the black community? Homosexuals are no longer a minority, while those that identify as gay may be. Besides most of these questions have been address by It Ain’t Just the Size.

Michael Eric Dyson has called those opposed to same-sex marriage as “Sexual Rednecks”, he also called religious zealotry as bigotry. Meanwhile pastor Jamal Bryant, CNN’s Roland Martin, and Sophia Nelson have taken to the airwaves to oppose the presidents “evolution” on gay marriage. Although Barack Obama is black he can’t be seen too closely associated with black issues. He has pledged support for women, military, Israel, gays, afghans and immigrants, but never support directly for blacks. Why?

The truth is that while mass marketed black cultural products are the rage in America, black people, especially descendants of slaves, just aren’t that popular. Well, not popular enough to warrant support or action from the president regarding a defacto 2nd class citizenship, mass incarcerations aimed at inner-cities and huge unemployment rates. Barack Obama has done and said much for “interest” groups, but he’s done nothing for blacks, unless you count him telling blacks to “get over it” and “stop whining.” What would happen if Barack Obama said to gays “quit crying and complaining”? I know people will say the president’s “administration” has programs that help blacks, or there are black gays and black immigrants. While this is true. It is also true that President Barack Obama appears afraid to address blacks and black issues in public.

I find it curious that after Barack’s personal “evolution” on gay-marriage, he went to Hollywood to a $40,000-a-plate fundraiser, which netted him 15 million dollars for his campaign. I have yet to see him in inner-cities of Los Angeles, New York or Chicago, isn’t he the president of the poor and down-trodden as well as the rich and influential? Isn’t he the President of all people and not just special interest. Some have suggested that black opposition to same-sex marriage is a religious one, it is not. While we are talking about black pain, gay inconvenience or the 1st Gay President… how did the black community become so entangled with gay rights? Some have suggested that President Obama is waiting until his 2nd term to really let the “Black” out. I don’t know what that means, but I do know that black people have always been told to be patient and wait, while other groups have gotten ahead. What I also know is that simply putting a black face on it won’t be good enough the second time around.

Aren’t we Americans being a bit self-righteous on torture. I mean come on. The Democrats have been in power for awhile and before them the Republicans were in charge do you really believe that the CIA lied to every single member of congress? If you believe that then you are the problem. They have enough evidence to impeach Bush and Cheney, but didn’t move forward why? Because they are all culpable. As long as everything is classified, or blacked out there is Plausible Deniability. Yes Bush did somethings that everyone did not approve of, but believe me our so-called representatives knew a heck of a lot more than they told us then and they know more than they are telling us now. Musings on people who say that we don’t torture: Algeria, Project Phoenix, Latin America, Abu Ghraib, Git-Mo, and more we have done far worse things than torture. We have been torturing for a long time and we wont stop torturing, or doing any other immoral activities. Who is going to stop us? And here we are Ad nauseam talking about “Waterboarding” when that is only one of the so-called enhanced interrogation techniques, there are some better ones.  I know an officer in the military who says that the interrogation tactic guidelines in the field manual are enough to put you in the hospital. What we have done is created a way to inflict all kinds of pain and discomfort that brings the suject close to dying,  but keeps them alive so we can do it to them again, …sweet.

So what if the House Speaker says “The CIA lied to me” and then she turns around and lies to all of us. I find her credible and I believe that in all of the CIA’s 400 briefings on torture she was the only person that they lied to. Pelosi, the Dems, the Reps and many others are complicit in this, but would we accept the same manner of treatment to our soldiers? We talk about ideals, so are we not shocked? Or is torture alright with us? Of course people are saying that they want full disclosure because they know it wont happen and that there is so much misinformation out there that the truth will be obscured anyway. Do you really think that all of the “torture” evidence was documented or conveniently put on a memo for public consumption. We want to believe that the bad people are somewhere other than at our front door. We want to believe that these cellars and dungeons of our own creation don’t exist. I know it makes my day go a hell of a lot better when my stomach isn’t churning, but that’s just me. There will be a few scapegoats to satisfy the media, and to pacify us. Personally I think we should get rid of everyone in congress, electing these lawyers has created the culture of cover up, word-play, and manipulation. Big deal they sort of let Bush off the hook.  And Cheney is breaking his arm patting himself on the back  saying look at the information we gathered by almost killing everyone. If we are getting the information then why do we still have issues with the extremist? Why haven’t we found the weapons? Where is Osama? Or maybe they haven’t told us that information as well. Because of 9/11 we were gun-ho in-the-moment and went looking for revenge, and it was all good as long as it looked like we were kicking the crap out of everybody. We have brought soldiers and war to three countries and there will be more. Only now when the world is looking at us negatively we say that we are looking for who is responsible the real answer is… We All Are.
